Why solar PV? Simply because it makes sense from a financial and environmental point of view. What’s more, solar PV is safe and reliable.
1 . Solar energy is free and reduces my electricity bill. The sun is the only resource needed to power a solar PV system. It is abundant in Seychelles and does not send a bill every month!
You can save up to100% of your electricity costs for residential premises, and up to 50% for commercial premises.
Depending on applicable PUC rates, roof inclination, size of PV system and financial support, the typical pay back period of a PV system is comprised between 3 and 5 years. This means that a PV system costing SCR100,000 would reduce your PUC bill by SCR20,000 to SCR30,000 per annum.
2 . Solar PV protects the environment. When using a PV system, you actively contribute to reducing the combustion of imported fossil fuels and the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) by PUC Electricity. For example, a 10kWp PV system saves around 11 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to a car driving 73,000km.
3 . PV technology is safe and reliable. We use German-made PV modules and inverters. PV modules have a 11 year manufacturer warranty and a groundbreaking linear performance guarantee of 25 years (meaning a guaranteed module performance of 90% after 20 years, and 80% after 25 years). Inverters have a 5 year manufacturer warranty which can be extended to 10 years.
